Abies concolor

Abies concolor, often admired for its elegant silhouette and soft silvery-blue needles, brings a serene presence to any landscape. Its conical form stands tall and symmetrical, creating a striking visual year-round. The needles, unusually long and curved, feel soft to the touch and give off a subtle citrusy fragrance. Mature specimens can reach impressive heights, becoming graceful focal points in large gardens or parks.

This stunning fir species, also called the white fir, maintains its cool-toned foliage throughout the seasons. Gardeners choose Abies concolor for its refined structure, slow yet steady growth, and its ability to thrive in both formal and wild-style plantings. The bark matures from smooth gray to a rugged, textured surface that adds visual depth. In winter, it offers strong architectural value, with persistent needles and occasional upright cones that add interest.

• Excellent cold-hardy fir with soft, fragrant foliage

• Elegant pyramidal shape ideal for visual symmetry

Thanks to its resilience and beauty, Abies concolor remains a favorite among collectors and landscape designers alike. Its low-maintenance charm and distinctive blue-green texture ensure it stands out wherever it’s planted.
