Plant Information

Plant Care

Adams Needle Yucca is remarkably low-maintenance and drought-tolerant once established. Remove dead or damaged leaves as needed to maintain appearance. Flower stalks can be cut back after blooming. This plant rarely requires fertilization and is naturally resistant to deer and rabbits.

Winter protection is generally unnecessary as this hardy plant tolerates cold temperatures well. However, in areas with heavy snow, tie the leaves together to prevent damage from snow weight.

Planting Instructions

Choose a location with well-draining soil and full sun exposure. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and at the same depth. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring it sits at the same level as it was in its container.

Backfill with soil, firming gently to remove air pockets. Water thoroughly after planting. Space plants 2-3 feet apart to allow for mature growth. Apply a 2-inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the crown to prevent rot.

For container planting, use a pot with drainage holes and well-draining potting mix. Position the container where it will receive adequate sunlight and protect from excessive winter moisture.
