Thrives at Heronswood and Sydney’s botanic garden. Spectacular red and yellow leguminous flowers appear along the trunk in summer, followed by gigantic orange seeds. The nectar rich flowers attract birds, bats and butterflies and the seeds have been shown to have anti HIV and anti-cancer properties. Reaches 8m high in cool climates; 20m beyond. Its strong root system makes it suitable for use in consolidating stream banks to prevent erosion. Also perfect for indoor dish gardens. Medium growth rate.
