Clematis John Warren

A heritage favorite with a devoted following, John Warren has proven itself as a top-notch performer with eye-popping flower size. Colossal-size flowers bloom on this medium-sized plant in plentiful numbers. These flowers almost always grow to over seven inches in diameter, but we measured them at 9 inches in our test gardeneven on young plants. These are some of the largest springtime flowers in the garden, with each sepal marked in gorgeous white and pink pinstripe. These larger-than-life flowers reach over seven inches in width, and you’ll see masses of them on ‘Clematis John Warren.’ A vigorous plant, ‘John Warren’ blooms on a mix of new and old wood all through summer. Prune it with care and you’ll find this Clematis to be an outstanding collection to your garden. Try mixing this cultivar with a smaller-blooming variety to really show off the flower size.
