Known by various names including the Ric Rac or Zigzag Orchid Cactus, the Fishbone Cactus (Epiphyllum anguliger) is a structural masterpiece that breaks all the rules of what a cactus “should” look like. With cascading emerald green serrated stems that resemble fishbones, it has an appearance that feels both prehistoric and modern. Unlike desert cacti, this is a tropical succulent that doesn’t require as much light.
