Organic Filius Hot Pepper (Capsicum annuum) is a compact, ornamental, and edible hot pepper variety that brings vibrant colour to small spaces and culinary gardens. This attractive Capsicum annuum ornamental pepper produces numerous upright fruits that mature from purple to cream, then orange and bright red, creating a spectacular decorative display that lasts for weeks. The bushy Capsicum annuum plant reaches approximately 45 to 60 cm (1824 in.) tall and is covered with dark green foliage that beautifully highlights its abundant fruit production. Despite its ornamental appearance, this Capsicum annuum chili pepper delivers true hot peppers with a spicy flavour and moderate to strong heat.

Easy to grow, Organic Filius Hot Pepper thrives in warm, very sunny locations with rich, fertile, well-drained soil. Start Capsicum annuum seeds indoors from February through April at temperatures between 24 and 30C to produce vigorous seedlings ready for transplanting after the last frost. Grown in 8 to 12 L containers, this hot pepper plant performs exceptionally well on balconies, patios, terraces, and other sunny locations. Regular watering when the soil begins to dry slightly at the surface promotes healthy growth without waterlogging the roots, while moderate fertilization supports abundant flowering, colourful fruit production, and lush foliage.

Ideal for decorative containers, edible flower beds, ornamental vegetable gardens, and urban landscapes, Organic Filius Hot Pepper combines outstanding beauty with excellent culinary versatility. Its colourful fruits can be harvested at different stages of ripeness and used in homemade hot pepper sauces, marinades, stir-fries, or dried into hot pepper flakes and spicy powders. This productive plant grows well alongside tomatoes, eggplant, carrots, peas, and onions, creating a colourful and productive garden. Its delicate pale violet Capsicum annuum flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects, supporting reliable fruit set and enriching garden biodiversity.
