Monstera Standleyana – 17cm

Monstera standleyana is a graceful, vigorous climbing aroid with long, narrow, glossy leaves that distinguish it from its showier cousins. In the wild and on a moss pole, stems climb readily and leaves enlarge and take on subtle perforations closer to the midrib as the plant matures. Many specimens are also lightly flecked with cream or white, adding a subtle decorative twist. Faster-growing and far less fussy than many Monsteras, it’s a fantastic choice for a bright, humid corner, climbing trellis, or living plant wall.

Origins
Monstera standleyana is native to the tropical forests of Central America, with a natural range spanning Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. It grows as a hemi-epiphyte, climbing tree trunks in warm, humid, shaded understorey conditions.
