Northern Hi-Lights Azalea

Northern Hi-Lights Azalea brings soft fragrance, tropical-style color, and northern resilience together in a compact, easy-care shrub. Creamy white flowers open in spring, each with a vivid yellow flare at its centera beautiful contrast that lights up the garden early in the season. Bred in Minnesota for reliable performance in cold climates, this deciduous azalea delivers seasonal impact from spring through fall, with mildew-resistant foliage that deepens to rich burgundy in autumn.

Tropical Color in a Cold-Hardy Shrub: Part of the University of Minnesotas Northern Lights series, this azalea was bred specifically to thrive in colder regions. It holds its flower buds through late frosts and delivers consistent spring bloom even in zone 4, extending vibrant color to climates where few azaleas can succeed.

Soft Fragrance and Bright Spring Interest: In mid to late spring, clusters of creamy white flowers appear, each accented with a golden yellow center. The light fragrance adds to the experience, making it an excellent choice for borders near walkways or windows where scent and color can be enjoyed up close.

Multi-Season Beauty With Minimal Care: Northern Hi-Lights keeps adding interest after bloom. Its foliage resists mildew and turns brilliant shades of red and burgundy in fall. With a rounded form reaching 45 feet, it’s well suited to foundation plantings, woodland edges, or layered mixed borders.
