Small climbing philodendron with dramatic lobed leaves

This plant shows bold, deeply lobed leaves that can read almost pinnate as they mature, producing a palmlike silhouette from each blade. Leaves are glossy and leathery with a triangularovate base that becomes increasingly divided, giving a strong architectural look and striking light-and-shadow effects in a room. Compared with Philodendron pedatum, radiatums basal blade and tendency toward more extreme lobing are the obvious differences.

Development is very noticeable: juvenile plants have smaller, simpler leaves, while older, climbing specimens develop much larger, deeply divided blades. Its a true climber that produces aerial roots and visible leaf scars on the stem; providing vertical support (moss pole or stake) encourages the more dramatic adult foliage and closer leaf spacing.

Practical ownership is straightforward but candid: this is the species form rather than a named cultivar, and while it adapts to indoor humidity and bright, indirect light, it is toxic if eaten (contains calcium oxalate) so keep away from pets and children. Expect a vigorous, climbing growth habit that can become leggy without enough light or support, and be alert for common pests like spider mites or thrips.

Best suited to shelf displays, terrariums or upright supports in apartments and medium rooms. Philodendron radiatum XS is supplied as a small plug (P3) juvenile youll receive a compact starter plant whose leaves will increase in size and lobing as it climbs and matures.
