Tibouchina Rich Blue

Originating from Brazil, Tibouchina Rich Blue, often referred to as “Glory Bush,” is renowned for its striking purple flowers and lush foliage. This tropical shrub is an eye-catching addition to any garden or indoor space, flourishing under the right conditions. It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking to add a vibrant splash of color to their plant collection.

How to care for your Tibouchina Rich Blue

Water: Tibouchina plants require regular watering to keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Reduce watering during the cooler months to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

Light: Place your Tibouchina in a spot where it can receive full sun to partial shade. Full sun is ideal for the best flower production, but in hotter climates, some afternoon shade will help protect the plant from excessive heat.

Humidity: This plant prefers high humidity environments. If you’re growing it indoors, especially in dry conditions, consider using a humidity tray or a room humidifier to increase moisture in the air.

Temperature: Tibouchina thrives in warm conditions, ideally between 18C to 25C. It is not frost-hardy, so it needs protection from cold drafts and temperatures below about 10C.

Toxicity: Non-toxic to cats and dogs, which makes it a worry-free choice for pet owners.

With its lush, velvety foliage and rich, ultramarine blooms, the Tibouchina Rich Blue can transform any space into a vibrant tropical haven with proper care.
